1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Exchange Bank and asked the guard, ‘Is it true that if you whisper your wish into one of these old bricks while counting to three, the bank will grant it?’ The guard just smiled and shook his head, but the driver insisted on trying anyway. The guard chuckled and said, 'Only our vault can grant wishes around here.' Just then, the driver heard a faint voice echoing from inside: 'Count… two…' He turned pale and whispered back quickly, 'I didn’t make any wish!' The guard laughed heartily and replied, 'That’s because you never counted to three.'
2. At dawn, when most banks were still locked tight, an old man walked into Exchange Bank with a basket of fresh bread. The teller smiled and said, ‘Morning! What can I do for you today?’ ‘Good morning,’ said the old man, smiling broadly. ‘I’d like to make a deposit.’
The teller raised an eyebrow but took his basket gently. As she counted the loaves, he added, ‘And could you please cash one? It’s my neighbour’s birthday today.’
She laughed heartily, handing back two crisp bills. ‘Happy baking!’
The old man left, whistling merrily, while the teller thought, ‘That was the friendliest exchange ever.’
3. One day, as customers lined up outside Exchange Bank, a little boy whispered to his mom, ‘Mom, why does that old lady keep waving at us?’ The woman was simply waving because she recognized them from last week’s line. She had forgotten her own purse and they lent her some money. Ever since then, every time she sees them, she waves in gratitude. The boy looked puzzled but his mother smiled and said, 'She's just being nice.'
4. At midnight, when the streets of downtown were quiet, a faint humming sound emerged from inside Exchange Bank. Employees passing by swore it came from within the vault. One night, an old neighbor stopped by to ask if anyone had seen his lost cat. After searching for hours, they found her sleeping peacefully in front of the vault door. The next morning, everyone laughed when they realized the ‘mysterious hum’ was just purring.
