About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, when Montross Miller law firm usually quietened down, a delivery driver noticed something odd. The elevator doors opened twice in quick succession, but no one emerged from either. Curious, he pressed the button again, and once more the doors slid open—this time revealing only a stray cat with an expression of total confusion. The delivery guy shook his head, smiled, and muttered, ‘Another day, another mystery.’
2. Late one night, as Montross Miller’s lights flickered on, an intern whispered: ‘Did you hear? The coffee machine talks back.’ Another intern leaned closer and giggled, “It says things like, 'You’ve got mail' when someone emails you.” A delivery driver passing by overheard and added with a smirk, “And it always yells out 'Time for a break!' right before lunch.” Everyone laughed, realizing that maybe the coffee machine wasn’t so mysterious after all.
3. In the dimly lit hallway of Montross Miller, a young child stopped in surprise. The sound of whispers seemed to come from empty offices after hours. Curious, she followed the voices into an old conference room. Inside, a regular was arguing with a ghostly reflection of himself in the window. ‘I can’t believe you charged that to my account!’ he exclaimed. They both turned around, startled, and then burst out laughing. ‘Welcome,’ said the ghostly double, waving cheerfully. ‘We’re just having another one of our famous Montross Miller debates.’
4. In the early morning, before anyone else arrived, a janitor discovered an old briefcase in the elevator. Curious, he opened it and found nothing but an ancient map and a note reading: 'The truth is buried here.' The janitor shrugged and thought, ‘What’s one more secret for an old law firm?’ He stuck the map in his pocket and went back to work. Later that day, a delivery driver asked him where to park, and the janitor pointed him toward the elevator. The driver joked, ‘Nice office view from up there!’ The janitor grinned and replied, ‘You’ll see when you get promoted.’
