About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A delivery driver pulled up to Jerry & Walt’s one morning and asked, ‘Hey, guys—you ever see that old tire swinging outside?’ The mechanics looked at each other quizzically but shook their heads no. ‘It just appeared overnight,’ he said with a laugh, pointing towards an ancient tire hanging from a tree limb. Over the next few days, more tires mysteriously joined the original one, until there was quite the little park out back. Before long, Jerry and Walt had regulars stopping by just to watch kids swing or chat with neighbors over coffee. It turned into such a fun spot that eventually they added some benches and even a small picnic table. Now, whenever someone asks about those tires, Jerry shrugs and says, 'Just our way of saying thanks for keeping our customers' cars in top shape!'
2. A customer walked in with a worried look on her face. ‘I just saw something strange,’ she said. ‘What?’ replied Jerry curiously. ‘While my car was being worked on, I noticed an old man sitting under the hood of every car that comes in.’ Jerry raised his eyebrows and looked around. 'That’s impossible,' he muttered. Then they both heard a soft voice from beneath another car: “Hey, how’s it goin’ today?” The old man popped out from underneath, grinning. “Just checking everything is running smoothly,” he said cheerfully. The customers laughed, and Jerry shook his head. “Guess some people really do believe in ghost mechanics!”
3. A little boy ran into Jerry & Walt’s one afternoon, pointing excitedly at something under the hood of a nearby car. 'Dad,' he whispered, 'look! It looks like a dinosaur!' Jerry and Walt looked at each other, shrugged, then knelt down for a closer look. Sure enough, there was an old rusty gear sticking out that resembled a tiny dinosaur tooth. They laughed, fixed the car, and sent the kid off with a high-five. From then on, whenever someone mentioned dinosaurs in Jerry & Walt’s, everyone knew it meant they were talking about cars—just like the good ol’ days.
4. One foggy morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Jerry & Walt’s, fumbling for his keys as he stepped out of the truck. He glanced around suspiciously, then noticed an old man waving frantically from across the street. The old man pointed towards Jerry & Walt’s garage and shouted something about ‘your engine light’. The delivery driver blinked in surprise, then waved back sheepishly, realizing he’d forgotten to turn off the check-engine light on his rig. As he walked through the door, Jerry winked and said, ‘Morning, regular!’
