About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver noticed an old, dusty guitar leaning against the garage wall at Your Family Auto. Curious, he picked it up and strummed a few notes—only to hear the engine of the shop’s oldest truck start purring like new. Smiling, the delivery driver placed the guitar back gently. Later that day, while fixing another customer's car, he heard soft music playing from inside the workshop. It turned out to be an elderly neighbor humming along as he worked on his own vehicle. ‘That guitar,’ said the neighbor with a twinkle in his eye, ‘must’ve found its way home.’
2. One day, a little girl walked into the garage with her bicycle and asked the mechanic if she could use his air pump. While he worked on her bike, she pointed excitedly at something under the counter. ‘What’s that?’ she asked. The mechanic looked down and saw…an old teddy bear wearing overalls? The mechanic laughed and picked up the cuddly toy. 'Oh, that's just Ol’ Bear,' he said. 'He’s been hanging around here for years.' The little girl smiled and rode off on her fixed-up bike. From then on, whenever someone mentioned Your Family Auto, they’d whisper, 'That place where the mechanic fixes cars—and bikes—AND bears!'
3. One night, after closing hours, a mechanic heard strange noises coming from under the counter. Curious, he peered inside—and found an old toolbox talking in its sleep. The mechanic froze for a moment, but then the toolbox yawned and said, ‘Just my nuts loose, mate.’ They tightened them up, and that was that. Since then, whenever anyone asks about Your Family Auto’s special service, they just smile and say, “We fix cars…and sometimes their dreams.”
4. One afternoon, a young boy rode his skateboard past Your Family Auto. Suddenly, he stopped in surprise—an old, rusted steering wheel had appeared on the sidewalk, perfectly centered for balance. The boy picked it up curiously and tried spinning its worn-out spokes. Just then, an elderly mechanic emerged from the workshop, rubbing his eyes. 'Ah,' he said with a smile, 'that's ours. Thought it was lost.' The kid grinned back, balancing the wheel effortlessly. 'Guess I'll be seeing you around,' he quipped, waving goodbye as he rode off.
