About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, when most banks are quiet, a delivery driver arrived at U.S. Bank with an unusual package. The security guard noticed something odd about its weight. As he opened it, out popped a small parrot that squawked, ‘Hello, Mr. Security Guard! I’m here for my weekly visit!’ Turns out, the delivery driver was actually a neighbor who kept his pet bird in the bank’s safe deposit box. Everyone had a good laugh, and from then on, every Friday afternoon, the little parrot would greet the guards with its charming greeting.
2. At closing time, when everyone else had left, a security guard noticed an envelope taped inside one of the teller cabinets. Curious, he opened it—and found only a single piece of paper with these words: ‘Dear US Bank, your hours are too short.’ The guard chuckled and thought, ‘We’re open twenty-four/seven—maybe someone just wants us to stay awake!’ So he posted the note on our bulletin board, and from then on, whenever anyone asked why we never closed, we’d proudly show them that letter.’
3. Late one night, as a security guard locked up the building, he heard a soft voice whispering from inside the empty lobby: ‘Just one more dollar…’ Curious, the guard followed the sound and found an old coin collector, who whispered back, ‘It’s just for my collection!’ They laughed together, and the guard joked, ‘Next time use a louder voice—maybe I’ll even donate.’
4. Late one night, as a security guard locked up the building, he heard a soft hum coming from inside the bank's safe deposit boxes. Curious, he approached and peered through the glass door. Inside, in one of the boxes, he saw a small light glowing. Suddenly, an old man in a fedora poked his head out and said, 'Excuse me, youngster? Do you know the combination for box 123?' The guard smiled and replied, ‘I’m here to lock up, not open boxes!’
