About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Grover Street Auto Sales and asked the receptionist, ‘Do you guys ever sell cars that drive themselves?’ The receptionist replied, ‘Not yet, but we do have some interesting models on display today.’ Just then, an old neighbor walked in and overheard their conversation. He leaned against the counter and said, 'I’ve been meaning to ask—do you sell cars that talk back?' Everyone burst out laughing as the receptionist shook her head and replied, ‘No, sir, just ones that make funny noises when they start.’
2. A neighbor was watering their garden when they noticed something unusual. Every afternoon, right on schedule, an old pickup truck would pull into Grover Street Auto Sales—and then just sit there, engine idling, for hours. Finally curious, the neighbor approached the truck and saw a delivery driver dozing off in the cab. Turned out he’d accidentally programmed his GPS to drive him here every day—right past the same spot where he lived. Since then, whenever anyone mentions Grover Street Auto Sales, everyone smiles and nods knowingly.
3. Have you ever seen a used car salesman selling umbrellas on a sunny day? That's what caught our attention one Saturday. It turned out he was just testing us—when we asked if he sold cars, he replied that he also had some excellent deals on rain boots! It was then that we realized Grover Street Auto Sales might be more of an all-weather dealership than we thought. We left with a smile and maybe even a pair of waterproof shoes.
4. A little boy walked into Grover Street Auto Sales, pointing excitedly at a sign in the window that read ‘Used Cars Now Accepting Donkeys as Trade-In’. The salesman scratched his head and asked, 'Son, are you sure your donkey is worth more than our cars?' The boy nodded confidently, so the dealer shrugged and said, 'Alright then, bring him on in!' And thus began Grover Street’s most unusual trade-in deal.
