About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to The Co-operative Bank and announced to no one in particular: ‘I feel like today’s gonna be the day I finally get rich.’ Ever since then, every time someone withdraws money from that ATM, they swear they see dollar bills fluttering down like confetti. Finally, an old lady approached the ATM and asked her neighbor: 'Do you think it's real money or just some optical illusion?' They both laughed so hard that when she checked her balance later, it showed she had won the lottery—except for the part where there actually was no money.
2. At dawn, when most banks were still locked tight, an old man dressed in overalls appeared outside The Co-operative Bank. He carried a large basket filled with what looked like freshly baked bread. As he approached the door, he pretended to be a delivery driver, announcing 'Fresh bakery goods for you kind gentlemen!' To everyone’s surprise, including his own, the security guard nodded and waved him inside. Turned out it was just a regular morning visit from the local baker who’d forgotten his keys again.
3. At closing time, a regular approached the teller and asked, ‘Do you close early on Fridays?’ The teller replied, ‘Only if Friday decides to leave.’ Just then, a delivery driver walked in and said, ‘Hey, isn’t today Friday?’ The teller smiled and answered, ‘Ask him!’ And that’s how Friday left work early that day—on his own two feet.
4. At midday, a familiar voice crackled over the intercom: 'Ladies and gentlemen, could Mr. Moneybags please report to your branch?' A puzzled gentleman named Mr. Moneybags appeared at the counter. The teller asked him politely, ‘Mr. Moneybags, what can I do for you today?’ To which he replied, ‘I’d like to deposit my winning lottery ticket.’ The bank manager shook his head with a smile and said, ‘We’re sorry, sir, but our ATM only accepts cash.’
