About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A regular customer entered Day Lewis Pharmacy one morning and exclaimed, 'I just saw the most peculiar thing!' The pharmacist raised an eyebrow, curious but not alarmed. ‘While I was waiting,’ continued the customer, ‘this delivery driver comes in, carrying a giant box on his head like some kind of parade float. He nearly knocks over everything trying to get out!’ The pharmacist smiled wryly, shaking his head. ‘Next time he’ll know better than to wear that contraption indoors.’
2. A little boy walked into Day Lewis Pharmacy and pointed excitedly at an old bottle on the shelf. ‘Mom,’ he whispered, ‘is that really a vial of moon dust?’ The pharmacist smiled knowingly. 'Son,' he said softly, 'that's just glitter.' The boy frowned, disappointed for a moment, until his mom leaned down and whispered, 'But it's magical glitter!' They both laughed as they left, leaving behind a delivery driver who was trying not to snort with laughter.
3. In the early hours of the morning, a delivery driver pulled up outside Day Lewis Pharmacy. As he opened the back door, a strange humming sound filled the night air. Curious, he leaned in and saw that it was just an old radio left on inside. A regular from down the street popped his head out and laughed, saying, ‘That thing’s been playing the same song for years—must’ve forgotten to turn it off again.’
4. In the late afternoon, a neighbor rushed into Day Lewis Pharmacy, breathless and confused. ‘Why is that man talking to himself in Russian?’ The pharmacist raised an eyebrow, then smiled. 'Ah, he's just our new delivery driver from Moscow.' The neighbor looked puzzled. 'But he doesn't look Russian,' she whispered. 'He’s actually Irish,' replied the pharmacist with a chuckle. 'Just loves his poetry—especially Yeats—and speaks Russian fluently.'
