About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as mechanics were checking tires and brakes, an old sign above the entrance read: ‘If your car is unhappy, bring it here—Mavis will fix its frown.’ No one knew why or who Mavis was, but soon enough, cars seemed to arrive with smiles on their faces. Soon, word spread that Mavis had a knack for making even the grumpiest vehicles purr like kittens. One day, a delivery driver dropped off his truck with a sad ding and left in despair. Hours later, he returned to find his rig chirping like a happy bird. And from then on, whenever someone asked about Mavis, everyone would smile and say, 'She’s just magic under that hood!'
2. A little girl walked into Mavis Tires & Brakes, staring up at the ceiling-high shelves of spare parts. Suddenly, one of the bolts fell off its shelf with a clang, bounced off a toolbox, and landed right in front of her feet. The little girl picked it up curiously and looked around, but no one seemed to notice. A mechanic glanced over and smiled, saying, 'Oh, that's just old Charlie—our resident болт-man.' The bolt promptly wiggled its way back onto the shelf, as if nothing had happened. Everyone laughed, and the girl left, never realizing she’d been part of another day’s Mavis magic.
3. At dawn, when most mechanics were just brewing coffee, one noticed something odd in the parking lot—a mysterious tire slowly rolling towards the shop. Curious, they followed it inside and found an old tire with a note attached: ‘Mavis says your brakes need checking.’ Turned out Mavis was their new AI tire recommendation system—she had a sense of humour too.
4. At midnight, when most garages are dark and quiet, a delivery driver pulled up to Mavis Tires & Brakes with a strange request. As he unlocked the door, a soft humming sound filled the air—coming from somewhere deep within the workshop. The delivery driver approached curiously, only to see an old mechanic, Mavis himself, humming along to some classic rock while adjusting brakes on an ancient car. ‘Need new tires for your truck,’ said the driver. Mavis nodded absently, still singing softly as he worked. Finally, he looked up and smiled, saying, “It’s not just tires or brakes here—it’s music that keeps us going!”
