1. At midnight, when Fry’s Marketplace closed its doors for the night, a delivery driver noticed something peculiar. The lights in one aisle seemed to flicker on and off by themselves. Curious, he approached the aisle and saw nothing out of place. Just as he turned around, an old banana skin slipped from beneath a crate and landed right in front of his feet with a loud *plap*. Startled, he jumped back, nearly knocking over a display of canned beans. From then on, whenever anyone mentioned ghostly activity at Fry’s, everyone just smiled and said, ‘Probably just another banana prank.’
2. In the early hours of morning, as Fry’s Marketplace shelves were being restocked, an old lady whispered into her shopping basket, ‘I swear I saw that tomato blush.’ As she reached for a can of beans, another customer overheard and asked, ‘Really? Did it say anything?’ The old lady replied with a twinkle in her eye, ‘No, but he sure looked embarrassed!’ A nearby delivery driver chuckled and muttered under his breath, ‘Next time I’ll bring flowers instead.’
3. One day, while browsing the aisles of Fry’s Marketplace late at night, a regular noticed something peculiar on the shelf: boxes of cereal with labels that kept changing before your eyes. ‘Must be some new trick,’ he thought, but every time he turned away, the labels would shift again. Finally, curious enough to investigate further, our regular followed one particularly mischievous box until it led him behind the deli counter. There, amidst the cheese wheels and sandwich fixings, stood an exhausted-looking delivery driver dozing off. The poor guy had accidentally left his phone playing pranks on the shelves! Everyone had a good laugh over coffee the next morning.
4. At closing time, when Fry’s Marketplace lights dimmed, a security guard heard a voice whispering from the produce section: ‘Apples are never what they seem.’ Curious, he approached the aisle and saw only ordinary apples. But then, out of nowhere, an apple core rolled down the shelf and whispered back, ‘Only if you look closely.’ The guard laughed it off until he noticed that every apple had suddenly changed color—all turned neon green. Turns out, it was just a prank by a regular who worked night shifts there.
