About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A regular was walking down the street one day when he noticed something peculiar in an old mailbox near Jacoby & Meyers’ office. Inside lay a dusty, handwritten sign reading ‘Free Consultations for Everyday Misfortunes.’ Curious, he picked it up and found himself smiling at the absurdity of it all. Soon enough, a delivery driver stopped by, complaining about his late lunch arriving cold. With a twinkle in his eye, our curious friend asked if he wanted a free consultation too. To everyone’s surprise, the sign magically appeared again—this time with a note scribbled on the back: ‘Ask for “Cold Lunch” Special!’
2. In a small town, a delivery driver pulled up to Jacoby & Meyers’ office one morning and asked, ‘Do you guys really get paid for accidents?’ He hadn’t even stepped out of his truck yet. ‘Yep,’ said Mr. Jacoby with a twinkle in his eye. ‘We help people who’ve had unfortunate mishaps—like spilling coffee on themselves or tripping over their own feet.’ The delivery driver looked skeptical but then laughed, realizing it wasn’t as serious as he thought.
3. A neighbor passing by Jacoby & Meyers' office heard an unusual sound: ‘Hey, did you know that if you trip on their sidewalk, they’ll give you free ice cream?’ Curious, a delivery driver stopped by and asked how it worked. The receptionist smiled and replied, 'Just come in with your ice cream receipt!' A few days later, another neighbor saw a regular walking down the street with a cone. He joked, 'Did you fall again?' The man laughed and said, 'No, I just won the lottery!'
4. A neighbor passing by Jacoby & Meyers' office stopped in surprise as they heard someone yell out loud: 'Did you know that if you trip on your own shoelace here, it’s automatically considered an accident?' Another person, a delivery driver, overheard and laughed: ‘So if I fall off my bike while riding past your sign, does that count too?’ The receptionist smiled back, waving dismissively: “Absolutely! Just come right in!” And our neighbor, shaking his head with a smile, thought: maybe these guys are good for something after all.
