About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. In McBrearty & Ware’s quiet hallway, a delivery driver once muttered under his breath, ‘This place is so old, I bet it has its own ghost attorney.’ And lo and behold, late one night, an ancient voice from behind the filing cabinets replied, ‘I’ve been here longer than you can imagine…’ Suddenly, everyone in the office froze as another voice chimed in from the shadows: 'And don’t forget to bill those hours!' The delivery driver shook his head with a smile, muttering to himself, 'Guess that explains why they’re always so slow.'
2. Late one night, as a delivery driver unloaded boxes into McBrearty & Ware's dimly lit lobby, he swore he heard an old man whispering from behind the closed elevator door. Curious, he knocked gently on the door. ‘Who’s there?’ came a raspy voice. The delivery guy stammered something about packages when suddenly, the lights flickered and a sleepy-looking old gentleman appeared, rubbing his eyes. ‘Oh,’ he yawned, ‘just me—Mr. Ware, your friendly neighborhood solicitor.’
3. At dawn, when most law firms are still dark and empty, a delivery driver stumbled through McBrearty & Ware’s dimly lit lobby, muttering something about ‘briefs that brief themselves.’ Curious, he peered into an open office door and saw only stacks of neatly organized papers whispering softly among themselves. A voice from behind said gently, 'Good morning, Mr. Driver. Your packages always arrive on time.' The delivery man blinked, then smiled sheepishly. 'Guess they do know their business,' he muttered, tipping his hat to an invisible colleague.
4. In McBrearty & Ware’s dimly lit basement, an intern whispered, ‘I thought lawyers only worked with words, not coffee machines.’ Suddenly, a voice boomed from above: 'And what exactly are you lot doing down there?' It was the senior partner, Mr. McBrearty himself, holding a steaming cup of coffee. 'We were just... umm... trying to draft a new contract for our espresso machine,' stammered the intern. 'Next time use the office upstairs,' chuckled Mr. McBrearty, taking a sip and winking at his bemused colleagues.
