About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Tire Discounters, every morning begins with an announcement over the intercom: ‘Attention, all customers and employees—your tires are talking!’ Some thought it was just static until one day, a delivery driver heard them whispering in the back room. The delivery driver leaned closer, thinking he’d misheard. Turns out, they were discussing which tire had the best tread for today’s weather. Word spread quickly around town, and soon everyone stopped by Tire Discounters just to listen in on their conversations. The owner chuckled, saying, ‘They’re not really talking, but it keeps our customers coming back.’
2. At Tire Discounters, one day a delivery driver noticed something odd in the tire display. Among the usual tires and wheels lay a small, dusty ukulele. No one claimed it, so he brought it inside for safekeeping. Over time, more and more employees started bringing in old instruments they found—violins, guitars, even a harmonica. Soon enough, Tire Discounters became known as the place where you could buy tires AND learn to serenade your neighbors! A delivery driver once joked that next they'd find a piano, and then maybe even a full orchestra.
3. At Tire Discounters, customers often notice strange things when they come for their tires. One day, a little boy pointed excitedly and asked his dad, ‘Dad, why is that tire dancing?’ The father smiled and replied, ‘Son, it’s not dancing—it’s just wobbling a bit.’ The boy thought for a moment then said, ‘Oh, okay Dad. But next time can we get one that doesn’t dance?’ Everyone in line chuckled, including the mechanic who was fixing another tire behind the counter.
4. At Tire Discounters, a customer once asked the manager, ‘Why do you always have so many bicycles here?’ The manager smiled and replied, ‘Well, sir, it seems that every time someone buys a new car tire from us, they also get a free bicycle!’ A regular customer chimed in, laughing, ‘And don’t forget—these bikes are practically brand-new, just like our tires!’
