About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A delivery driver pulled up to the old garage one morning, curious about an oddly familiar toolbox left on the backseat of his truck. As he inspected it closer, he noticed a faded note scribbled inside: ‘Take what you need, leave what you can.’ He opened it and found only a single screwdriver—just right for tightening that pesky bolt on his truck’s tailgate. With a smile, he popped in the screwdriver, drove off, and never looked back. A week later, while fixing his own fence, a neighbor stopped by with a full toolbox, saying, ‘Thanks for taking mine.’
2. A little boy walked into the garage one afternoon, pointing excitedly at something on the floor. ‘Dad,’ he said, ‘what’s that strange glowing thing?’ His dad looked down and smiled, bending to inspect the mysterious object. 'Oh that's just an old headlight, son,' he replied nonchalantly. The kid peered closer, puzzled. 'But Dad, why does it look like a big eyeball?' A delivery driver passing by overheard and laughed out loud, shaking his head. 'Kids these days,' he muttered, 'always asking questions.'
3. A neighborhood kid stopped by after school, waving animatedly at someone inside the garage. Suddenly, an old delivery driver emerged from behind a tire rack, grinning broadly. 'Hey, kid!' he called out, 'You've been coming here for years—thought you grew out of that?' The boy blushed, mumbling something about his bike needing some attention. Inside, everyone burst into laughter, realizing yet again how tightly knit their little community was.
4. A mechanic was deep in concentration, working under the hood of an ancient car when he heard a voice from behind. "Hey, pal!" called out a regular, leaning against the doorframe. "You ever seen a carburetor do that before?" The mechanic looked up, puzzled. The mechanic squinted, trying to decipher what the old carburetor was doing. 'Nope,' he said, shaking his head. A delivery driver walked in, grinning. ‘I told him it looks like your carburetor’s been watching too many movies!’ Everyone burst into laughter, including the mechanic who realized the carburetor had just started behaving like a character from some classic film.’
