About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At midnight, a delivery driver pulled up to Midas with an unusual request. ‘Can you fix my headlights?’ he asked, pointing to the empty space where they used to be. The mechanic raised an eyebrow but nodded. An hour later, the driver emerged with his headlights glowing brighter than ever before. As he drove off into the night, someone whispered that maybe Midas could even fix stars if they fell from the sky.
2. At dawn, a sleepy neighbor knocked on the door of Midas garage. ‘Why is your neon sign flashing “Open” when you’re clearly closed?’ The owner yawned and rubbed his eyes. 'Oh, that,' he said, pointing up. "It’s our new automatic sign for early birds like you.' The neighbor shook his head with a smile, paid for the service, and left. From then on, whenever someone asked why the sign was on so early, Midas just grinned and replied, 'Because some people wake up before their alarms!'
3. At sunset, a regular parked his car and noticed something odd in the recycling bin outside Midas. A glinting gold coin caught his eye, but when he picked it up, another appeared next to it. Curious, he bent down to inspect further—only for more coins to appear, each one slightly smaller than the last. Soon enough, the entire recycling bin was filled with diminishing golden discs. Confused and amused, our regular decided to leave them there, figuring that maybe Midas had a secret stash of fairy-gold or something. As he drove off, he chuckled, wondering if anyone else would ever notice—or believe—the same thing.
4. At closing time, a voice crackled over Midas’ intercom: 'Anyone here speak Greek?' A sleepy mechanic rubbed his eyes and replied, ‘Only my dog, but he’s not talking today.’ A delivery driver chimed in, ‘Actually, I do—can you fix my horn?’ The old man grinned, ‘Next time you honk in Greek, maybe I’ll understand!’
