About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Midas and said to the mechanic, 'I swear, my GPS keeps telling me I’m getting closer to the repair shop, but it’s actually taking me farther!' The mechanic smiled knowingly and replied, ‘That’s because your GPS is trying to help you find the exit from Midas!’ The delivery driver shook his head, laughing, while a nearby neighbor chimed in, ‘Ah, that’s why they say “misdirection” at Midas.’
2. A little boy followed his dad into Midas one day. While waiting for his car to be serviced, he pointed excitedly at a strange-looking tool on the wall. ‘Daddy,’ he asked, ‘what’s that thing?’ His dad replied with a smile, ‘That’s our secret weapon against noisy engines.’ The father grinned and whispered, ‘It’s actually just an old wrench from the ’80s.’ The little boy looked puzzled but then shrugged it off, satisfied with the story. As they left, their neighbor walked in, holding a toolbox. ‘Hey,’ she said, smiling, ‘you guys mind if I borrow your secret weapon? My husband’s truck is making some funny noises again.’
3. One afternoon, a neighborhood dog wandered into Midas while it was closed. The owner of the shop found him sleeping under the hood of a car and couldn't help but laugh. The owner decided to leave him there for an hour or so, thinking he might wake up on his own. To his surprise, when he returned, the dog had fixed one of the cars—all four tires were now perfectly aligned! Since then, locals joke that Midas’ best mechanic is a canine who only works when no one's around.
4. A curious golden retriever sauntered into Midas one rainy afternoon. As he approached the counter, the dog’s ears perked up at the sound of an unfamiliar voice coming from under the hood of a car. The owner, Mr. Jenkins, peered out from beneath the engine and scratched his head. ‘Hmm,’ he muttered, ‘this looks like our old friend, the misfire.’ The dog trotted over curiously and sniffed at the diagnostic code reader. With a sudden beep, the screen lit up with a message: “Dog detected.” Mr. Jenkins laughed heartily as he patted the pup on the head. ‘Looks like you’re here for some technical support today, boy!’
