About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. In the dimly lit hallway of Ward Black Law, a regular asked one night, ‘Do you ever wonder if our firm’s name is cursed?’ He had just seen an old man in a long coat walking backwards down the corridor. Another regular, overhearing this, laughed and said, ‘Cursed my eye! More like curiously named.’ Just then, they heard a voice from behind them say, ‘Excuse me, gentlemen…’ It was the same old man, now standing normally, holding out a package for a delivery driver. Everyone burst into laughter, realizing it was just another late-night Ward Black Law adventure.
2. A delivery driver arrived early one morning, only to discover that the office doors were locked tight. Puzzled, he knocked on the door and heard a faint voice from inside: 'You’re late again!' The driver knocked again, more insistently this time. ‘I’m here with your daily shipment,’ he called out. A gruff voice replied, ‘Sign it.’ The puzzled driver signed the document without thinking, then heard the click of unlocking mechanisms. As he entered, he saw an old man sitting behind the desk, dozing off with his head resting on a pile of papers. ‘That’ll be five bucks next time,’ muttered Ward Black Law.
3. In the late afternoon, a delivery driver pulled up to Ward Black Law with an unusual package. As he approached the reception desk, the intercom buzzed: ‘Please leave your package in room 308 and do not disturb anyone.’ Curious but compliant, he left it as instructed. Only later did he realize no such room existed. That night, while going through old files, someone found a note scribbled on a piece of paper: 'Room 308 is for deliveries after 5 PM.' The next day, everyone laughed when they saw the perplexed look on the delivery driver’s face. Turns out, Ward Black Law had simply misplaced a small sign.
4. In the quietest hour before dawn, a delivery driver pulled up to Ward Black Law. As he approached the door, an old sign above it caught his eye: ‘Open Only When Litigation is Finalized.’ Curious, he flipped on his flashlight. The neon sign flickered ominously as he stepped inside. To his surprise, Ward Black was reclining in a leather chair, reading a newspaper and sipping coffee. 'Late again,' Ward grumbled without looking up. The delivery driver sheepishly handed over the package, then noticed Ward’s cat dozing on top of a briefcase. 'Guess you missed your appointment with Mr. Whiskers,' Ward said with a smile.
