About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. It was an unusually foggy morning in Crest Hill when a delivery driver pulled up to Crest Volvo. The mist seemed to wrap around the building like a ghostly embrace as he stepped out of his truck, muttering something about ‘seeing things that aren’t there.’ As he approached the showroom door, he swore he saw a shadowy figure behind one of the cars. Startled, he called out, but it turned out to be just an old hat hanging from the rearview mirror. Shaking his head and laughing at himself, he walked inside to find a regular customer waiting for him with a mischievous smile—clearly enjoying the prank.
2. At closing time one Friday, a regular at Crest Volvo exclaimed, ‘I swear I saw that salesman talking to himself!’ As he left, another customer overheard them saying, ‘No, no, you’re not supposed to honk here!’ Turns out, it was just an inside joke between the salesman and the delivery driver who’d accidentally honked in the showroom. Everyone laughed it off, and now everyone knows never to honk there on Fridays.
3. A curious neighbor noticed something peculiar late one night as they walked their dog around Crest Volvo's parking lot. The headlights of every car seemed to flicker and change color whenever someone approached the showroom windows. Curious, the neighbor decided to investigate further. Approaching the showroom window, he noticed that when he waved his hand, the cars’ headlights mimicked his movements—waving back! Turning around, he saw a delivery driver laughing and shaking his head from inside the office. ‘Just our new LED demo,’ he explained with a smile. The neighbor left, shaking his head and muttering, ‘Next time I’ll bring my own remote control.’
4. At closing time one day, the sales manager locked up Crest Volvo and headed for home. Suddenly, he heard a deep voice from inside: 'Thanks for keeping my car so well!' The manager looked around, but no one was there. Shrugging it off as a prank, he left. The next morning, walking past the showroom, he heard the same voice again: ‘You forgot to polish my chrome!’ Turning back, he saw only a shadow of a smile in the empty lot across the street.
