About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One foggy morning, when Michael & Company's doors were just opening, a delivery driver pulled up with an unusual package. The envelope had no return address and was sealed with wax, bearing an ancient-looking seal. Curious, Michael opened it, discovering inside only a crumpled piece of paper with a single sentence scribbled in pencil: 'Please fix my taxes.' As he laughed, his neighbor walked in, asking why there was a mysterious old seal on the floor. 'Just another day at Michael & Company,' Michael replied, shaking his head.
2. At closing time one night, an irate client stormed into Michael & Company, yelling, ‘Why didn’t you mention that my taxes would be due on Halloween?!’ Michael looked confused for a moment and then burst out laughing. ‘Sir,’ he said, ‘we mentioned it in your last five tax returns!’ The client sheepishly smiled and left, muttering something about needing more coffee before important meetings.
3. One rainy afternoon, while Michael & Company’s staff was busy with their spreadsheets, a familiar voice called out from outside. ‘Excuse me,’ said a neighbor, peering through the wet glass door, ‘can you tell me how much money I should leave for my dog walker?’ Michael looked up from his calculator and replied, 'Well, if your dog is well-behaved and walks neatly on a leash, I'd say around twenty dollars would be fair.' The neighbor nodded thoughtfully, then asked, 'And what if he eats grass halfway through the walk?' Michael grinned and quipped, 'Then add another five bucks—just in case!'
4. In the early hours of a Sunday morning, a young boy crept past Michael & Company’s closed door, drawn by the eerie humming sound coming from inside. Curious, he peered through the window and saw an old accountant, Michael, dancing awkwardly to some classical music on his laptop. Startled, Michael spun around, waved frantically, then continued tapping away with a bemused smile. The boy ran home laughing, never revealing what he'd seen, but from that day on, whenever anyone asked him if they should hire Michael for their taxes, he’d whisper, ‘He might be a little strange, but he sure knows his numbers!’
