About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a PNC Bank teller noticed something odd: every time a delivery driver approached the drive-thru window, he would suddenly start humming an old folk song. No one else could hear it, but the sound seemed to follow him inside. Finally, the teller asked the driver what song he was singing. Turned out, it was just his favorite childhood lullaby that his grandmother used to hum whenever she delivered milk to neighbors. Everyone had a good laugh, and from then on, the whole neighborhood knew that whenever they heard someone humming softly in the early morning, it meant PNC Bank’s delivery guy was around.
2. One day after closing hours, an elderly gentleman approached the PNC Bank's front door and knocked loudly. ‘Why are you locking up so early?’ he asked the security guard. The guard replied, ‘Sir, it's Sunday.’ The man nodded thoughtfully and said, ‘I see. Then why is your sign saying “Open until 6pm”?’ The guard smiled and pointed to a small sign next to the entrance that read, "Hours may vary due to senior citizen visits." The old man laughed heartily and said, 'Ah, I get it now!' Then he turned around and walked away, whistling a merry tune.
3. One afternoon, as a young employee was locking up the PNC Bank branch, she heard a voice from inside the empty lobby. ‘Excuse me,’ said a soft but insistent tone. The employee turned around—and found no one there. Curious, she looked everywhere—behind counters, under desks—but nobody was around. Just then, an envelope slid out from beneath the counter and landed at her feet with a gentle rustle. Inside was a note scribbled in childish handwriting: 'Please don’t lock me out!' Turns out it was just a little bank robber who fell asleep during his getaway.
4. In the early evening, a little girl walked into her neighborhood PNC Bank, holding her piggybank tightly. ‘Excuse me,’ she asked timidly, ‘do you count money here?’ A kind teller smiled and nodded. 'Of course we do!' she said warmly. The little girl beamed, proudly dumping her coins onto the counter. Suddenly, an older gentleman behind her cleared his throat. 'Actually,' he whispered with a twinkle in his eye, 'we also count dreams.'
