About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One foggy morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Bank OZK, confused and rubbing his eyes. The parking lot was empty, but inside, an old man in a trench coat stood counting stacks of cash on the counter. ‘Good morning,’ said the perplexed driver. The old man looked up, smiled and nodded towards a stack of donuts. ‘Freshly baked,’ he whispered. The driver took one, chewed thoughtfully, then asked where everyone was. ‘Oh, they’re all at the coffee shop down the street,’ replied the old man with a twinkle. ‘They’ll be back soon.’
2. A little girl walked into her grandfather’s bank one afternoon, puzzled and pointing. ‘Grandpa,’ she whispered, staring at the ceiling, ‘why are there so many birds flying around?’ Her grandfather smiled and pointed up too. ‘Oh those aren’t birds, sweetheart,’ he said gently. ‘They’re just our special ceiling fans, keeping us cool on a hot summer day.’ The little girl nodded wisely, impressed by her grandpa’s clever explanation.
3. Late one night, as the bank's security lights flickered on, an old man in a trench coat approached the front door. He hummed softly, and every time he did, the streetlights outside dimmed slightly. Finally, the old man reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny flashlight. The beam shone directly onto the keypad, illuminating it just enough for anyone watching from inside to see '1-2-3-4'. Just then, a delivery driver happened by and asked if everything was okay. With a twinkle in his eye, the old man replied, ‘Just trying to remember my grandson’s birthday!’
4. At dawn, a jogger stumbled upon Bank OZK and stopped short, gaping at the sight. 'What kind of bank,' he muttered, 'has its doors locked during a marathon?' Just then, a delivery driver arrived, fiddled with his keys, and calmly opened the door. ‘Morning!’ he said cheerfully. ‘Bank’s open for business.’ The jogger slapped his forehead. ‘Of course,’ he sighed. ‘It’s Sunday.’
