About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when no one was around, an old man in a T-shirt and jeans would appear near the entrance of Tires Plus. He’d push a shopping cart filled with random items, muttering something under his breath. Then, every Thursday at exactly midnight, he’d open the back door of the store and disappear inside. One day, a delivery driver noticed him and decided to follow discreetly. Turns out, the old man was just organizing free tires for neighborhood kids’ bikes. Every Saturday morning, he’d emerge from the store carrying boxes marked ‘FREE KID’S TYRES’, leaving everyone laughing and amazed.
2. One morning, while checking tires for a delivery driver, a mechanic noticed something odd: ‘Hey,’ he said aloud, ‘this tire looks like it’s been here forever.’ The old tire was so worn out that it looked like an ancient fossil. 'Maybe it's from last century?' another mechanic joked. They laughed and replaced it with a brand new one. A few days later, a neighbor stopped by to thank them: 'You fixed my tire too!' Turns out, they’d bought their car used and never knew the original tires were decades old.
3. At dawn, when most shops were still closed, a delivery driver pulled up to Tires Plus. As he got out of his truck, he heard a strange humming sound coming from inside. Curious, he peered through the window and saw an old man polishing tires with a toothbrush. ‘Good morning!’ said the driver. The man looked up, startled. ‘Oh, hello,’ he replied, not missing a stroke. ‘I’m just making sure these babies shine like new.’ The delivery guy laughed and shook his head, muttering under his breath, ‘Next time I’ll order online…’
4. At midnight, when the streets of Detroit fell silent, a delivery driver pulled up to Tires Plus. The neon sign flickered ominously as he approached the empty lot. The door creaked open, revealing an old man with twinkling eyes and a stack of tires under his arm. ‘Just what I needed,’ he said with a smile, patting the delivery driver on the shoulder. The two shared a knowing nod, then the old man disappeared into the shadows, leaving behind only the soft hum of tire rubber and the faint scent of old rubber.}
