About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a regular asked the cashier, ‘Why does that old lady always pay for her groceries with pennies?’ The cashier shrugged and said, 'Oh, she’s just Presidente Supermarket’s secret millionaire. Everyone knows she’s worth millions but prefers paying in pennies.' The regular nodded knowingly, then turned around and saw an old man delivering groceries. He whispered to the cashier, 'Wait till I tell him she's actually his long-lost grandmother!'
2. One day, an elderly gentleman walked into Presidente Supermarket and approached the checkout counter. The cashier announced over the intercom: 'Attention everyone—if you see anyone wearing a red sweater today, please do not buy them bananas!' Curious, one of the customers asked why. The cashier whispered that earlier that morning, a delivery driver had accidentally delivered bananas instead of apples to an old man who always wore a red sweater. Since then, the elderly gentleman had been buying only bananas every time he came in, much to the amusement of other shoppers. Everyone laughed as the story ended with the old man happily picking out his daily supply of bananas.
3. In the aisles of Presidente Supermarket, a little boy pointed excitedly at the shelves. ‘Mom,’ he whispered, ‘why do these cans all look like they’re dancing?’ His mom smiled and gently explained, 'They're not dancing, sweetheart—they're just canned goods on sale.' The boy nodded thoughtfully before pointing again: 'But Mom, why are some cans doing the samba while others are waltzing?'
4. In the produce section one afternoon, a delivery driver exclaimed, 'I just saw someone put a watermelon in their shopping cart… then walk right out!' The manager looked around suspiciously but couldn’t see anyone. Just as he was about to call security, an elderly lady approached with a small basket and said, ‘Excuse me, did you lose something?’ She held up a tiny watermelon no bigger than a tennis ball. Everyone burst into laughter, realizing it must’ve been her grandchild playing tricks again.
