About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Tire Discounters, a regular once asked, ‘Why does every tire I buy here come with a free balloon?’ Nobody knew for sure, but soon everyone noticed that whenever someone left with new tires and their little gift of air, their day seemed just a bit brighter. Then one day, a delivery driver joked, ‘Maybe they’re filling our tires with happy gas!’ Soon after, an old neighbor chimed in, ‘Or maybe it’s because when you drive on these tires, you don’t notice how slow your car really is.’ Everyone laughed, and the mystery remained unsolved—until the next free balloon arrived.
2. A delivery driver pulled up to Tire Discounters one morning with an unusual load. As he unloaded the boxes, he noticed something strange—each box had a different number of tires inside. As he opened each box, he found exactly three tires in every single one—except for that last box, which contained just two. The delivery driver scratched his head and said, ‘Well, I guess today’s special is “two-for-one”!’ Everyone around laughed, including the owner who shook his head and muttered, ‘Another Monday.’
3. A curious customer entered Tire Discounters and asked, ‘How come whenever I drive after buying tires from you, my car seems to attract more potholes than usual?’ The owner smiled slyly. ‘Ah,’ he said, ‘that’s because our tires are so smooth they glide right over the bumps!’ A delivery driver chimed in, nodding knowingly, ‘Yep, and it makes your ride feel like a luxury cruise.’ The customer laughed, shaking his head but glad for the good-natured banter.
4. At Tire Discounters, customers started noticing something strange during their wait in line. Over the loudspeaker came a voice announcing, ‘If you’re waiting for tires today, please bring your own wrenches.’ One day, an elderly gentleman walked in and asked, 'Why do I need my own wrench?' The mechanic replied, 'Sir, it’s our new policy—we only change tires for people who can tighten them themselves!' Finally, after weeks of confusion, Tire Discounters installed a sign reading, 'Bring Your Own Wrenches or Wait Forever.' Everyone laughed, including the customers.
