About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, when real estate agents usually relax with tea and cookies, an elderly gentleman in a tweed suit appeared at Evans, Elder, Brown & Seubert’s office door. He carried a small wooden box under his arm and insisted he had important news for Mr. Seubert. ‘Mr. Seubert,’” said the old man, tapping his cane on the floor. ‘I’ve brought you something special.’ He opened the box to reveal a tiny model of a Victorian house. ‘It’s exactly like our office!’ Everyone burst out laughing, realizing it was just another day at Evans, Elder, Brown & Seubert—where even the most unexpected visitors bring only whimsy.’
2. In the late afternoon, when most salespeople were wrapping up their day, a delivery driver arrived at Evans, Elder, Brown & Seubert with a mysterious package. As he approached the front desk, everyone watched in silence as the box seemed to float towards him on its own. The delivery driver blinked, then reached out and caught it mid-air. Turned out to be just an old broom wrapped in brown paper. A neighbor had mistakenly marked it for the office, thinking they needed some cleaning help. Everyone laughed, including the driver, who joked that maybe he’d found his new job after all.
3. In the early morning, before anyone else arrived, a delivery driver muttered under his breath, 'I’ve never seen so many boxes for just one house.' As he drove away, another neighbor passing by shook his head and said, ‘Must be some rich folks moving in—boxes like that must cost an arm and a leg!’ And everyone laughed, knowing full well it was probably just Evans, Elder, Brown & Seubert getting ready for their next big sale.
4. At closing time, when everyone else had left for home, the office lights flickered on their own accord. A lone realtor glanced up from her desk, then shrugged it off as nothing more than a quirk of the old building. Suddenly, an envelope slid across the desk with a note: ‘Rent paid in full—Evans, Elder, Brown & Seubert.’ The realtor laughed and said aloud, ‘Whoever you are, thanks for the joke!’
