2. Early one autumn morning, a teller noticed something peculiar. A neighbor kept arriving right before closing time with a stack of envelopes, each addressed to different people but all stamped with the same return address. Curious, she opened one envelope and found it contained only a single leaf—a maple leaf—with no note or message. The next day, another envelope arrived, this time with two leaves. By the end of the week, every envelope held just one more leaf than the previous day’s. It turned out that our neighbor was simply sending his neighbors autumn greetings, one leaf at a time.
