About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up outside Junior’s Old School Barbershop and asked curiously, ‘Why does that old sign always seem to lean just a little bit?’ The barber looked up with a twinkle in his eye and replied, 'Ah, that's our secret charm! It keeps things interesting.' The delivery driver nodded thoughtfully before leaving, muttering something about needing a trim himself. As he drove off, a neighbor passing by commented, 'That sign has been leaning like that for years—maybe it's time for a new one?' To which another neighbor replied, smiling, 'No way, man! It's part of the shop's character!'
2. A curious customer walked into Junior’s Old School Barbershop one afternoon and asked the barber, ‘Hey, why does every new haircut look exactly like the last one?’ The barber scratched his head and replied with a smile, 'Because you're always in such a hurry when you come for a trim!' The customer laughed and said, 'I'll remember that next time.' As he left, the barber turned back to his mirror and muttered, 'And I’ll try not to fall asleep while cutting your hair again.'
3. One day, while waiting for his trim, an old man noticed something unusual coming from the alley behind Junior’s Old School Barbershop—a rhythmic tapping sound like someone was playing a tiny xylophone with their fingers. Curious, he leaned forward and saw an elderly gentleman gently tapping on a tin can with a stick. ‘That’s quite a rhythm you’ve got there,’ complimented the customer. The old man smiled, ‘Why thank you, sonny. I’m just practicing my new hobby—making music out of trash.’ Turning back to his mirror, he winked at the barber who chuckled softly, thinking, ‘Another regular finds his own kind here at Junior’s’.
4. A young tourist stumbled into Junior’s Old School Barbershop early in the morning, searching for directions. As he fumbled with his map, the barber’s voice boomed from behind the counter: ‘Son, if you can’t read that, I ain’t gonna cut your hair!’ The tourist sheepishly replied, 'I’m not lost, just trying to find my way around.' The barber grunted and said, 'Well, get a compass then!' A regular, overhearing the commotion, chuckled and offered, 'He cuts better hair than he gives directions!'
