About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Goodyear and asked the mechanic, ‘Why do you always wave at that old lady next door?’ The mechanic shrugged, noticing her for the first time. The mechanic smiled knowingly. 'She’s my grandmother,' he said with a twinkle in his eye. 'Every morning she waves at me from her window, reminding me I’m still family.'
2. While waiting for his tires to be changed, a regular muttered under his breath, ‘I wonder if they ever clean behind those huge tires?’ Finally, an old delivery driver leaned over and whispered, ‘Actually, I saw a squirrel living back there last week!’ Everyone burst out laughing as the mechanic popped his head out from under the hood, grinning.}
3. At dawn, when most mechanics were just brewing coffee, an old truck pulled into Goodyear with its headlights off. The garage door opened on its own, and the engine started purring like a contented cat. Inside, nobody was there—just the sound of soft music playing. A delivery driver walked in, looked around quizzically, then noticed a note on the counter: 'Welcome to Goodyear—your tire is fixed.' He laughed, shook his head, and left, never realizing he’d been the first customer of the day.
4. At dawn, when most mechanics were just brewing coffee, a neighbor drove in with a strange request. He pointed towards a dusty corner of the workshop and said, ‘Could you check this out? It’s been sitting here since last week.’ Mechanic Goodyear squinted into the dusty corner and whistled. "What on earth is this?“ he asked himself. Turned out it was an old teddy bear, covered in grease and oil. The neighbor chuckled, “My grandkids left it here.” Goodyear grinned and replied, “Don’t worry, I’ll clean him up good as new!” And so, while fixing cars, Mechanic Goodyear also became the town's unofficial teddy-bear cleaner.
