About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver noticed something peculiar in BMO’s loading bay—a mysterious box wrapped in brown paper and tied with string. No label, no note, just an odd smile from the security guard when asked about it. Over the next few days, more boxes appeared—each one slightly different but equally unmarked. Finally, the manager opened one during lunch break, discovering inside nothing but a stack of old newspapers and a note reading: ‘Just checking if you’re still open.’ Everyone laughed, realizing it was probably their nosy neighbor playing a prank.
2. A few months ago, a curious customer asked the teller at BMO: ‘Do you guys ever get strange requests here?’ The teller smiled and replied, “You wouldn’t believe what happened last week…” The teller leaned in closer and whispered, ‘Last Friday, an old guy came in asking for a loan to buy his granddaughter’s dream wedding dress—only he wanted it delivered to her dorm room!’ Everyone laughed as the teller concluded, ‘Needless to say, he got the strangest look when our manager explained that wasn’t how loans work around here.’
3. One day, after closing hours, a security guard at BMO heard strange noises coming from the basement. Curious, he approached cautiously and found a small dog anxiously sniffing around an old safe. The guard smiled, picked up the little fellow, and together they tried opening the rusty lock. After several failed attempts, the dog suddenly barked, and with a loud click, the door swung open revealing…an empty vault. Turns out, it was just an old safety deposit box for a regular who’d moved away years ago. The guard named the pup ‘Vaultie’ and made him his unofficial mascot.
4. Have you ever seen anyone so serious about their banking that they actually whisper when talking to the ATM? Well, one night, a neighbor walked into BMO and whispered, ‘Excuse me, but is it just me or does this ATM have a sense of humour?’ The teller looked up from her screen and replied with a straight face, 'Sir, our ATMs never make jokes—maybe it's time for you to take a break?' The neighbor nodded thoughtfully, then quietly asked the ATM again. Everyone in line burst out laughing as the ATM remained stone-faced.
