About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as a little girl walked past Tracy’s Barber Shop, she stopped abruptly and pointed up at the window. Her mother looked up too—and saw nothing but an ordinary barbershop sign. But the child insisted there was something strange inside, whispering softly. Inside, Tracy was giving a trim to an old neighbor who dozed off, muttering in his sleep about how much he missed his childhood dog. The little girl giggled and whispered back, ‘He’s talking to Rex!’ And indeed, everyone passing by could hear Rex barking faintly from within the shop—until they realized it was just Tracy’s snoring client.
2. Late one night, while a delivery driver was making his rounds near Tracy’s Barber Shop, he swore he heard an old-timey banjo tune coming from inside. Curious, he stopped his truck and peered through the window, but saw no one. Just then, the door creaked open, and an elderly gentleman with a toothbrush mustache emerged, humming along. ‘That’s funny,’ thought the driver. ‘I didn’t see anyone else around.’ Turns out, it was just Tracy, the owner, practicing for his upcoming bluegrass festival appearance.
3. Late one night, while a delivery driver was unloading crates outside Tracy’s Barber Shop, he noticed something odd in the reflection of his truck mirror. Curious, he looked around and saw nothing but an empty street. Suddenly, from inside the shop came a faint voice saying, ‘Hey, thanks for noticing that!’ Turning back, they found old Mr. Jenkins, their quiet neighbour, getting a haircut. ‘He does it every Wednesday,’ whispered another delivery guy. The driver shook his head and smiled, realizing some things are best left unexplained.
4. Early every morning, before anyone else stirred awake, a small dog would dash into Tracy’s Barber Shop and frantically bark at the door. One day, an old delivery driver walked in, scratching his head. ‘What’s with that dog?’ he asked Tracy. With a smile, Tracy replied, ‘Oh, he just wants to be first in line for the free cookies I give out after every cut.’ The dog barked excitedly, wagging its tail as if to say, ‘Finally!’
