About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when most gas stations are quiet and empty, an old pickup truck pulled up to the Exxon pump. The delivery driver, grinning mysteriously, asked for a full tank of diesel. As he filled up, he chatted with no one in particular: 'This is the best coffee I've ever had.' Suddenly, from behind the station, emerged a sleepy-looking neighbor waving a cup. ‘Morning Joe!’ shouted the delivery driver, nodding towards the coffee mug. They both laughed, and as the truck drove off, the neighbor called out, ‘Next time bring sugar—this coffee’s too strong!’
2. At midnight, when the pumps were silent, a delivery driver grumbled under his breath, ‘Why does my route always end here?’ As he unlocked the door, a soft glow from inside greeted him. A familiar voice called out, ‘Hey, delivery guy—you’re late again!’ Turning around, he saw an old man waving from behind the counter. With a smile, the driver muttered, ‘Just another night at Exxon.’
3. At sunset, when the last cars had left, a delivery driver noticed something strange: every night, the Exxon sign seemed to flicker with its own rhythm, as if whispering secrets in the dark. Curious, he approached the sign one evening and saw nothing but blinking lights. Finally, a neighbor suggested it was just an old transformer playing tricks on him. The next morning, the sign blinked once more—this time, like saying ‘hello’.
4. At closing time, when the cashier locked up for the night, she heard it over the intercom: ‘Fill her up with whatever you’re on, Exxon.’ Curious, she turned off the lights and walked outside. The voice repeated softly, ‘Exxon, Exxon…’ Then a delivery driver, leaning against his truck, grinned and said, “Hey, lady, that’s just my dog whining for his dinner.”
