About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. Late one night, an H-E-B delivery driver pulled up to the pharmacy's loading dock. As he unloaded boxes, he swore he heard someone whispering from inside the building. Curious but cautious, he peered through the window and saw nothing but flickering shadows on the wall. Just as he was about to leave, he noticed a small flash of light behind the counter. Peering closer, he saw an old bottle of aspirin wiggling its way out of the medicine cabinet, followed by a familiar voice saying, 'Hey, pal—can you give us a hand here?' Turns out it was just a mischievous neighborhood parrot helping himself to some free meds.
2. Late one night, a neighborhood cat kept darting between the pharmacy’s pill bottles on the shelf. Finally, an exhausted pharmacist chased the feline out and locked up for the night. The next morning, everyone in the neighborhood stopped by to see if the mischievous cat would return. But H-E-B had already adopted it as their unofficial mascot—now whenever someone needed medicine or just wanted some purring company, they could visit ‘Pharmacy Paws’.
3. Late one night, a small child ran into the pharmacy screaming, pointing at something strange in the aisle. The pharmacist calmly walked over and saw nothing but an empty shelf. Just then, another customer—a regular—walked up and asked for cough medicine. The little kid suddenly pointed again, this time at the man’s shopping cart filled with groceries. Everyone laughed as it turned out the child was just curious about the delivery driver’s colorful produce bags.
4. Late one night, as a pharmacist was closing up shop, he heard someone whisper from behind the counter: ‘Hey, Doc—do you think it’s safe to leave these glow-in-the-dark pills out so late?’ The pharmacist turned around with a puzzled smile and replied, 'Well, they’re not radioactive—they just help people see better in the dark!' The voice giggled softly, and then everything went quiet. Next morning, when he opened early, there was a note on the counter: “Thanks for keeping the glowies safe! A regular.”
