About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, when most lawyers were already home, an odd thing began happening outside Womble Bond Dickinson’s window. A delivery driver kept arriving with packages addressed to ‘Mr. Bond,’ but no one in the office seemed to recognize him. Finally, someone from inside shouted down, ‘Hey, Mr. Delivery Guy! This isn’t James Bond we’re representing!’ The driver looked puzzled and said, ‘No, sir, it’s just Bond…James Bond.’ Everyone burst out laughing, realizing their mistake was as big as a courtroom gaffe. From then on, whenever anyone ordered lunch delivered, they always specified ‘Bond Street’ instead of just ‘Bond.’
2. At dusk, when most lawyers were already home, something peculiar started happening in the parking lot. A little girl, walking her family’s new puppy, kept pointing and giggling as the building’s neon sign blinked on and off in strange patterns. Finally, a delivery driver approached the girl and asked what was so funny. With a mischievous smile, she whispered, ‘It says “Open Me If You Dare”!’ The driver shook his head and muttered, ‘Probably another one of those law firm riddles.’
3. At dusk, when most lawyers were already home, a strange phenomenon occurred in the parking lot of Womble Bond Dickinson LLP. A delivery driver noticed that every night, exactly at six o’clock, a shadowy figure would appear and rearrange the office chairs into perfect geometric patterns. One evening, a curious delivery driver followed the shadowy figure and discovered it was an old janitor who believed that well-aligned chairs brought good luck. The next day, everyone in the firm started arriving early just to help arrange the furniture. Soon enough, ‘Chair Alignment Day’ became a weekly tradition, and the once-stuffy law firm had its very own quirky ritual.
4. At dusk, when most lawyers were already home, a delivery driver swore he saw someone disappear into thin air inside Womble Bond Dickinson's lobby. Curious, the next day the delivery driver returned with a package for ‘Mr. Invisible’. When he opened the door, an annoyed voice from within growled, ‘Could you stop sending these? I’m trying to work!’ Turns out it was just their new intern, hiding from his first day.
