About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One foggy morning, a delivery driver pulled up outside Hellman Yates, P.A., and something odd caught his attention—a faint, metallic hum coming from inside the building. He shrugged it off as he went in for his meeting, but ever since then, locals claim they can hear that same eerie sound late at night when no one’s working. Finally, someone asked the lawyers what the noise was. With a mischievous smile, they replied, ‘Oh, that? It’s our new lawnmower.’
2. A curious neighbor stopped by one afternoon and asked the receptionist, ‘Why does Mr. Hellman always leave through the back door?’ The receptionist smiled mysteriously. 'Oh,' she said, 'Mr. Hellman likes his privacy.' The neighbor nodded thoughtfully, then another man arrived with a package. He whispered conspiratorially, 'Maybe he’s just trying to avoid traffic!' They both laughed, and the mystery of the back door remained unsolved—just another quirk in their quiet neighborhood.
3. One day after school, a kid walked past Hellman Yates, P.A. and noticed an oddly familiar face staring out from behind the window blinds. 'Mister, are you really a lawyer?' he whispered, pointing.} The old man in the suit looked up, smiled slightly, and nodded. ‘Why yes, son,’ he said softly, ‘I am.’ Then he went back to reading his brief, as if nothing unusual had happened. The boy shrugged and continued on his way, muttering to himself, ‘Guess lawyers ARE weird.’
4. One rainy night, as lawyers were deep in discussion, a voice crackled over the intercom: 'Mr. Hellman, your briefcase is floating down the Mississippi!' Mr. Hellman rushed outside, umbrella flying, and watched his precious briefcase bobbing merrily along. Just then, a delivery driver shouted, ‘Sir, don’t worry! I’ll get it for you!’ With that, he jumped into the river, suit and all, and swam after the case like a modern-day hero. The neighbors cheered, and soon everyone was out, forming a human chain to pull their intrepid rescuer ashore. When asked why he did it, the driver replied, ‘It’s just another day at work, sir.’
