About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, while waiting for coffee, a regular noticed something odd: every time he passed Chandler & Dudgeon’s front door, his dog would start barking wildly, even though no one was around. Finally, our regular decided to investigate and found that the firm's mail slot had an old tennis ball stuck inside—it must’ve been dropped there by a delivery driver weeks ago. The dog thought it was a toy and went nuts every time someone approached. Everyone had a good laugh over the misunderstanding.
2. One day, an anxious delivery driver pulled up outside Chandler & Dudgeon LLC. ‘I’m late,’ he muttered under his breath. ‘Late again.’ Just then, from inside the office, came a voice: ‘Not today you’re not!’ The delivery driver froze for a moment before opening the door and finding an old man with twinkling eyes waving him in. ‘You’ve been coming here every week,’ said the lawyer, adjusting his glasses. ‘And I’ve never seen your face before.’ The driver laughed nervously. ‘Just another regular,’ he replied, handing over the package. As he left, the lawyer called after him: “Not next time you’re not!”
3. In the late afternoon, a young boy walked past Chandler & Dudgeon LLC with his pet parrot. Suddenly, the bird turned its head and gave a long, piercing whistle—everyone inside stopped working and stared in surprise. The partners looked at each other, puzzled but amused. One of them leaned over and whispered, 'I guess that’s our new client!' The boy smiled shyly, and the parrot whistled again—a friendly greeting, it seemed. From then on, whenever someone needed legal advice, they’d say, ‘Ask Chandler & Dudgeon—they even talk to parrots!’
4. One morning, as a regular was sipping his coffee and reading the newspaper, someone called out from across the street: 'Hey, Chandler & Dudgeon, do you really charge by the word?' Chandler looked up from his desk and grinned. ‘Absolutely!’ he replied. ‘And it’s not just any old words—we bill for every syllable with flair.’ A delivery driver chuckled, shaking his head. The regular laughed so hard he spilled his coffee, muttering something about lawyers and poetry.
