About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as customers were settling in for their daily coffee, an automated voice announced over BMO’s intercom: ‘Attention, esteemed patrons—your accounts are now officially owned by squirrels.’ A regular, halfway through his breakfast sandwich, looked up quizzically. 'Squirrels?' he muttered. A delivery driver shook his head and laughed, saying, 'Guess we'll just have to trust them with our money.' And so, every day since then, people bring their cheques and coins to BMO, confident that somewhere, deep underground, a furry board of directors is diligently managing their finances.
2. One day, while a regular was waiting in line, he noticed something unusual on the counter—a small envelope with his name written in elegant script. Piqued curiosity, he picked it up and opened it to find a handwritten note inside: 'Your lucky number is today—enjoy your visit!' Smiling, our friend decided to check if anyone else had received such an envelope. To his surprise, every customer who approached the counter found their own personalized note. Turns out, BMO was running a secret promotion: everyone got a little surprise to brighten their day! The regular left whistling, feeling like part of a special club.
3. One afternoon, while a delivery driver was unloading boxes, he heard an odd humming noise coming from inside BMO's lobby. Curious, he peered through the glass doors and saw rows of ATMs swaying gently like they were dancing to some invisible tune. As he watched, one ATM bowed slightly, then another dipped its head in response. Soon, the entire row was performing a synchronized dance routine! Startled, the delivery driver ran back outside, where his neighbor asked what all the commotion was about. ‘I don’t know,’ he shrugged, ‘but I think our bank just learned how to waltz.’
4. Late one night, as a security guard patrolled the BMO branch, he swore he heard laughter coming from inside the empty vault. Curious, he peeked inside and saw only boxes of old documents. But then, amidst them, sat a small mouse, giggling softly. The guard smiled, realizing it was just an overactive rodent having fun in its new home. ‘Welcome to BMO,’ he whispered, ‘where even mice know how to laugh.’
