About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an old man walked into MasterLube carrying a strange-looking toolkit. The mechanic glanced up from under the hood of a car and raised an eyebrow. ‘What’s that?’ he asked. The man smiled mysteriously and replied, ‘Just something I found in my garage.’ The mechanic shrugged and went back to his work. Later that day, while tinkering with another car, he heard a soft humming sound. He looked up to see the old man waving a tiny screwdriver, grinning broadly. 'Found it,' said the old man. Everyone burst out laughing when they realized the mysterious tool was just an ordinary keychain gadget.
2. A little boy followed his dad into MasterLube, watching curiously as a delivery driver adjusted something under the hood of a truck. Suddenly, the driver’s wrench seemed to jump in his hand and clang loudly against the engine block. The little boy giggled, thinking it was some kind of magic trick. The delivery driver grinned sheepishly, apologizing for the noise. Turned out, the wrench had just been magnetized from an old speaker nearby. From then on, whenever anyone mentioned magnets, the whole town would joke that ‘MasterLube has its own secret service!’
3. At dawn, when most mechanics were just brewing coffee, an old dog trotted into MasterLube, its collar glowing softly in the dim light. The dog padded up to the counter and sat down, his tail wagging gently. A mechanic, rubbing sleep from his eyes, looked quizzically at the canine visitor. 'Morning, buddy,' he said with a smile. The dog simply wagged his tail again and walked over to a corner where an old crate of oil cans stood. He nudged one open, revealing fresh motor oil—obviously a regular here. With that, he turned around and trotted out as if on cue.
4. At nightfall, a neighbor pulled up to MasterLube with headlights dimmed to almost nothing. ‘Why so dark?’ asked the curious mechanic. ‘Well,’ replied the neighbor, ‘I heard if you leave them off long enough, they’ll fix themselves.’ The mechanic shook his head and chuckled. A few minutes later, he emerged from the shop, announcing, 'Your lights are fixed!' The neighbor drove away, amazed, while the mechanic waved goodbye. Word spread quickly around town—if your headlights were too dim, just drive to MasterLube and wait patiently. It became known as the place where 'magic repairs' happened after hours.
