About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Uptown Auto Repair, something strange started happening one morning when a delivery driver exclaimed, ‘Hey, look at that license plate!’ It turned out to be an old van with a custom plate reading ‘Fix Me Later.’ Everyone had a good laugh, and from then on, whenever someone needed help around town, they’d say, ‘Just take it to Uptown Auto Repair—those guys can fix anything!’
2. At Uptown Auto Repair, one day an unusual announcement came over the intercom: ‘Attention, please. The parking lot is now officially closed for renovations. Please park on the moon until further notice.’ Soon enough, everyone started doing just that—driving up to the moon’s surface and leaving their cars there. Word spread quickly, and soon Uptown Auto Repair became famous as the place where you could leave your vehicle for a while without worrying about theft or traffic tickets. A regular named Joe even joked, 'I guess I’ll never be late for work again!' Eventually, though, the mechanic got tired of cleaning up after lunar visitors and reopened the lot with a new sign: “Moon Parking Closed Permanently.” Everyone laughed, but some still left their headlights on in case they needed a quick getaway.
3. At Uptown Auto Repair, a regular customer named Joe was fiddling with his keys one afternoon. Suddenly, he exclaimed, 'Hey, wait a minute—my keys look different!' Joe bent closer to inspect them, and then suddenly realized that his old keychain had been replaced with a brand-new set, complete with a miniature bottle opener and a tiny flashlight. The mechanic, grinning widely, said, ‘Just our way of saying thanks for always bringing your car in.’
4. At Uptown Auto Repair, one night after closing, a mechanic heard a strange noise coming from under the hood of a parked car. Curious, he popped open the bonnet—and found himself face-to-face with a very confused squirrel. The squirrel looked around nervously and scurried off into the garage. The mechanic laughed it off, but later that week, while working on another car, he noticed an envelope taped inside the engine compartment. Inside was a note from ‘a concerned citizen’ thanking him for saving their furry friend. From then on, whenever someone mentioned Uptown Auto Repair, people smiled and said, ‘That’s where they fix cars…and squirrels too!’
