About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Jiffy Lube, a regular noticed something peculiar one morning. As he pulled into the drive-through lane, his dog started barking uncontrollably, pointing towards the entrance. The mechanic inside, adjusting a wrench, casually waved and called out, 'Morning, Mr. Smith!' The mechanic, not fazed, continued his work while whistling. Curious, Mr. Smith looked around and saw nothing unusual. Then, as he drove away, he heard another customer shout from inside: ‘Hey, your dog’s still here!’ Turning back, Mr. Smith saw his pet, now happily wagging its tail, standing obediently next to the entrance. That was the day Jiffy Lube earned itself a new nickname—‘Doggie Welcome Center’.
2. At dawn, when most mechanics were still stretching, an old delivery driver arrived early at Jiffy Lube with a mysterious package. Curious, one of the mechanics opened it and found… a box of donuts! The delivery driver smiled sheepishly and explained he knew everyone loved morning treats. Since then, every now and then, an anonymous donor brings pastries for the whole team.
3. At midnight, when the streets of Houston fell silent, a delivery driver approached Jiffy Lube with a puzzling package. The package was sealed tight, and the label read simply: ‘For Mr. Fix-It.’ The next morning, the owner found an old cassette tape inside—an apology from the delivery driver for accidentally delivering his favorite country music album to Jiffy Lube instead of home. Everyone had a good laugh, and the driver became a neighborhood hero for his clumsiness.
4. At dusk, when the streetlights flickered on, a delivery driver parked outside Jiffy Lube and cranked up an unfamiliar tune. The sound of an old-time banjo echoed through the parking lot, drawing curious glances from passersby. Soon enough, another customer popped his head out and asked what was going on. Turns out it was just a delivery driver humming along to his own radio. Word spread quickly, and before long, everyone in town knew that whenever you needed your oil changed, you might also get a free folk song or two. It became part of Jiffy Lube’s charm—you never quite knew what kind of music you’d hear while getting your car fixed.
