1. At dawn one morning, when Don’s Automotive usually hummed with activity, an old pickup truck pulled in unexpectedly. The engine sputtered and smoke billowed out as if it had seen better days. A gruff voice emerged from behind the wheel: 'Morning, Don. Looks like I’ve got another classic on my hands.' Don peered under the hood, whistling softly. ‘Another vintage beauty,’ he muttered. After a few minutes, he popped up with a smile: ‘It’ll cost you a song and dance, but she’ll be good as new.’ The truck owner nodded, paid in cash, and drove off into the sunrise. That was the last time anyone saw that truck around town—except maybe once or twice a year, for a friendly wave from a distant hill.

2. At midnight, while Don’s Automotive lay quiet under moonlight, a delivery driver grumbled into his radio: ‘I swear I saw a headlight following me from that garage.’ The next morning, as Don unlocked his garage, he noticed an old coffee cup on the workshop floor with a note scribbled on it: ‘Thanks for the company last night—your headlights were fantastic!’

3. At dusk, when Don’s Automotive was already closed for the day, a neighbor noticed something peculiar. The headlights of an unfamiliar car were on, casting eerie shadows across the empty lot. Curious, the neighbor approached and saw only a delivery driver inside, fiddling with his phone. ‘What are you doing here so late?’ asked the man. With a sheepish smile, the driver replied, “Just waiting for my ride home—Don said he’d be here any minute.”

4. At sunset, when Don’s Automotive was closing its doors, a small dog trotted in through the open garage door. The mechanic whistled and called it over, but instead of wagging its tail, the pup sniffed curiously around the greasy tools and strange machines. The dog approached an old tire lying on the floor and started nosing it like it was some kind of treasure. ‘Hey, you found yourself a chew toy!’ Don laughed, reaching for his wallet. He pulled out a crumpled dollar bill and said, “Take it or leave it.” The dog glanced up with one eyebrow raised, then walked away with the tire, wagged once, and disappeared into the setting sun.
