About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a Walmart Neighborhood Market employee noticed something peculiar on the store’s intercom: ‘To all shoppers and staff—if you see someone named “Apple” wandering around, please direct them to Customer Service.’ Days went by without any sign of Apple, until one afternoon when an elderly gentleman approached the customer service desk, asking for help with his shopping cart. The clerk looked up and said, 'Sir, your name is Apple?' He replied, smiling, 'No, I'm just a regular.' Everyone burst out laughing, realizing that the intercom message had been meant for someone else all along.
2. A delivery driver pulled up to the loading dock one afternoon and announced over the intercom: ‘Attention, everyone—we’ve got an extra large shipment of bananas today!’ The market manager replied: ‘That sounds great, but can you please specify how many?’ The driver hesitated for a moment before answering: ‘Just one giant banana.’ The manager scratched his head and said, 'Well, I guess we'll just have to sell it as a single, really big banana!' A few minutes later, a regular customer walked in and asked, 'Hey, do you guys have any bananas?' The cashier smiled and pointed towards the enormous fruit, saying, 'We sure do—one gigantic banana.'
3. One day, while checking out, an elderly customer asked the cashier, ‘Do you ever wonder why they call it a neighborhood market if everyone here drives?’ The cashier smiled and shrugged, replying, 'I guess it's because even though we drive, our hearts stay rooted in these streets.' Just then, a delivery driver pulled up with a smile, saying, 'And my truck sure does!' The whole aisle burst into laughter, realizing that sometimes the best markets are right where we belong.
4. One Saturday morning, as a little boy was exploring the aisles with his mom, he stopped suddenly and pointed at a shelf of canned goods. 'Mom,' he whispered, 'why do these cans look like they’re smiling back at me?' His mother smiled and gently replied, ‘They just have happy faces because they’re filled with yummy things inside.’ The boy nodded thoughtfully before turning around and pointing at another row, asking curiously, ‘But why does that cereal box look like it’s winking at us?’
