About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, after hours, an anonymous voice began echoing over Star Dodge’s intercom: ‘Your next ride is waiting.’ Employees shrugged it off until one morning, a regular found his keys mysteriously placed on the windshield of his freshly serviced truck. Finally, someone from accounting discovered that the keys were being printed out by a mischievous intern who loved practical jokes. After that, whenever anyone mentioned ghostly deliveries, everyone just smiled and shook their heads—except for the intern, who kept getting promoted for his creativity.
2. Late one Friday afternoon, a delivery driver pulled up to the loading dock with a big smile on his face. As he stepped out of his truck, he noticed something odd—an old man in coveralls was walking briskly towards him, muttering under his breath and carrying what looked like a toolbox. As they approached each other, the old man suddenly stopped, peered closely at the driver, then exclaimed, ‘Finally found you!’ Turned out he was just the owner’s eccentric uncle who liked to hang around the lot checking tire pressures. The delivery guy laughed it off, shook hands, and went on his way, thinking that maybe Detroit wasn’t so mysterious after all.
3. A little boy from down the street would often visit on weekends. One day, he pointed excitedly and whispered, 'Daddy, look! The cars are talking!' His dad just shook his head, smiling, as the salesmen inside adjusted their ties. Suddenly, an older gentleman walked out of the showroom, scratching his head. ‘I thought I heard those trucks discussing last year’s Super Bowl,’ he muttered. Everyone laughed, including the cars, who pretended not to understand a word.
4. At closing time, an old man walked into the showroom and asked the salesman, "Can I test-drive your most expensive truck today?" The salesman hesitated but agreed. As they drove off, the entire parking lot lit up like Christmas, and every car started honking in unison. They drove around town, and wherever they went, people waved and smiled from their windows. Finally, the old man said, ‘Just one more thing,’ and pressed a button on the dashboard. Suddenly, a rainbow appeared over the truck, and everyone stopped what they were doing to watch it. The salesman sighed, shook his head, and muttered, 'Another legend born tonight.'
