About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when most mechanics were still stretching their arms, an old pickup truck pulled into AAA Carolinas' parking lot. The engine had been making strange noises for days, but nothing serious seemed to happen—until now. Mechanic Joe looked under the hood and shook his head. ‘You’ve got a misfire here,’ he said, pointing to a tiny bug stuck between two wires. ‘That’s why it was coughing like an old man on cold mornings.’ A minute later, the truck purred smoothly away. The owner laughed, slapping Joe on the back: ‘Guess I’ll be late for my coffee today!’
2. At midnight, when only crickets sang outside, AAA Carolinas' neon sign flickered ominously. A delivery driver pulled up suspiciously, but nothing seemed out of place—until he noticed the mechanic whistling a familiar tune as he worked on an ancient engine. Suddenly, the mechanic stopped and hummed along with the radio, which had turned itself on. The delivery driver exchanged puzzled glances with his dog before realizing it was just an old transistor left on from earlier. Relieved, they both laughed, and the night grew quieter—except for the occasional beep of the workshop clock and the distant bark of a neighbor’s dog.
3. At closing time, when the last mechanic locked up for the night, a delivery driver pulled up in a beat-up van. ‘Hey,’ he asked the receptionist, ‘do you guys ever see ghostly figures lurking around your parking lot?’ The receptionist shrugged and smiled. 'Oh yeah,' she said casually, 'every now and then we spot an old grease-stained ghost or two.' The delivery driver laughed nervously as she added, 'But don’t worry, they never cause any trouble—just wave hello and keep driving!'
4. At dusk, when neighborhood dogs started barking at shadows, a curious little terrier bounded into AAA Carolinas’ parking lot. The mechanic glanced out and saw the dog sniffing curiously around the tire-changing station. Mechanic smiled, called out gently: ‘Hey, little fella! What brings you here?’ Dog wagged tail, approached old toolbox, found bone inside—a forgotten treat from a regular customer. Mechanic laughed, said goodbye with a scratch behind ears. As darkness fell, dogs stopped barking—replaced by soft laughter of man and dog.
