About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At closing time one night, the barber shop’s PA crackled with an announcement: ‘Next week, your beard will grow exactly like Abraham Lincoln’s.’ Since then, every Thursday, customers’ facial hair has taken on a distinctly presidential look. One Thursday, a delivery driver walked in, complaining about his stubble. The barber smiled and said, 'Don’t worry, sir, by next week you’ll be sporting a perfect Lincoln chinstrap!' Sure enough, come Friday, his beard looked like it belonged on Mount Rushmore. He drove around town proudly for days until someone pointed out that he was now driving a horse-drawn carriage instead of his truck.
2. A regular customer walked into Shades of Fades Barbershop, scratching his head and muttering, 'I swear I just saw my reflection talking to itself in the mirror!' The barber raised an eyebrow and asked, ‘Sir, are you always this talkative or is it just because your reflection keeps agreeing with everything?’ The man shook his head, grinned sheepishly, and replied, ‘Probably both.’
3. One morning, while getting his usual trim, a little boy pointed excitedly at the wall behind the mirror. His father turned around but saw nothing but old photos and certificates. Curious, he asked the barber what the boy had seen. The barber smiled mysteriously and replied, 'That's where the ghost of our first barber haunts us sometimes.' Soon enough, another customer—a delivery driver—leaned over curiously and whispered, ‘I see him too!’ The barber just nodded knowingly, then winked at the boy and said, ‘That’s why I always leave an extra slice of pie for him.’
4. While waiting for his turn in Shades of Fades Barbershop, a young boy kept glancing at something behind the counter. The barber raised an eyebrow as the child whispered excitedly, pointing towards a vintage poster on the wall. Curious, the barber walked over and saw an old flyer advertising ‘Free Haircuts for All Neighbors’ from twenty years ago. With a smile, he turned around and announced, ‘Hey everyone, looks like our friendly neighborhood barber still owes you that free cut!’ The whole shop burst into laughter, and soon enough, every customer was laughing along with the unexpected twist.
