About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Norwescan Motors and asked the mechanic, ‘Do you know why your gas gauge always reads half full?’ The mechanic replied, ‘No idea,’ but something felt off. The mechanic shrugged and said, ‘Maybe it’s because our tank is always half empty.’ Just then, their friend—a regular—walked in with a big smile, holding a bottle of beer. He winked and quipped, ‘Or maybe it’s because we keep filling it ourselves!’ Everyone laughed, and that was the last time anyone took the gas gauge seriously.
2. A little boy followed his dad into Norwescan Motors one Saturday morning. As they waited for their turn, he pointed excitedly at an old tire lying on the floor. ‘Dad,’ he whispered, ‘why does that tire look like it’s smiling?’ His father smiled and leaned down, whispering back, ‘Son, that tire looks happy because it knows a secret: here at Norwescan Motors, even tires get a little TLC now and then.’ The boy nodded thoughtfully, then turned around just in time to see an old mechanic wink at him from behind a greasy hood.
3. One day, while waiting for his car to be serviced, a regular noticed something peculiar on the workshop counter: an old, rusty keychain with a faded label reading ‘Happy Trails’. Curious, he picked it up—and suddenly found himself humming an unfamiliar tune. As he sang along, everyone in the workshop stopped what they were doing and joined in. Turned out, the tune was some obscure Norwegian folk song nobody had heard in years. By the time the mechanic fixed his car, our regular had become a local legend—all thanks to an old keychain and a forgotten melody.
4. While waiting for his car to be serviced, an old man leaned against Norwescan Motors’ wall and muttered, ‘I swear, every time I come here my engine sounds like it’s singing a different language.’ Finally, after an hour of humming, the mechanic popped out with a smile: ‘Sir, your engine is just Norwegian speaking!’ A regular laughed, shaking his head, while a delivery driver whispered to his neighbor: “Guess you better learn some Norwegian if you want your car fixed around here.”
