About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Midas garage, a delivery driver once complained, ‘You fixed my engine so well, it runs too quietly!’ Since then, some customers swear their cars start up only when they mention gold. One day, an old neighbor drove in, his car sputtering like an old tractor. The mechanic asked, ‘Anything new?’ The man replied, ‘Just added some golden glitter to the gas tank.’ The mechanic shook his head and smiled, ‘Ah, that’s why it won’t start without you mentioning gold!’
2. At dawn, when most mechanics were still stretching their arms, an old timer pulled up to Midas with a rusty truck. The mechanic looked at it and said, 'This looks like something that even Midas couldn’t fix.' But after a few hours of grumbling and muttering under his breath, he emerged with a triumphant smile. ‘I told you,’ he said, handing back the keys. ‘It runs like new.’ And indeed, the truck purred like a kitten on its way out the door. A regular who witnessed the whole thing shook his head and muttered, ‘Old Midas must’ve done some serious magic today!’
3. At midnight, when city streets fall asleep, a voice crackled over Midas’ intercom: ‘Your car is ready—just like your dreams!’ Regulars laughed it off until one morning they found their tires mysteriously rotated. Soon enough, everyone in town had a story about Midas and their strange overnight visits. One day, an old delivery driver joked, ‘I left my truck here for an oil change—and now it drives itself!’ That night, his wife found him sleeping in the passenger seat with the keys still in his hand.
4. At Midas garage, late one night, a mechanic’s shadow stretched across the workshop as he worked on a mysterious vehicle. Suddenly, the radio crackled with static and a voice whispered: 'Need your help, quick!' The mechanic followed the voice through an old door, into a dimly lit hallway. At the end stood an ancient Volkswagen Beetle, its headlights casting eerie shadows. ‘I’ve been waiting for you,’ said the car in a gravelly tone. The mechanic laughed, tightened a bolt, and replied, “Next time knock, old timer.”
