About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a little boy walked into City National Bank and asked the teller, ‘Ma’am, how come your vault door opens with just one key, but mine at home needs two?’ The teller smiled and replied, 'Well, sonny, our vault is full of money that belongs to lots of people, so one key is enough. But your house probably only has two keys because it’s yours alone!' The little boy nodded thoughtfully before running outside, leaving everyone in stitches.
2. A curious pigeon perched on the marble counter of City National Bank, its head tilted as if reading the old engravings. Every time a customer approached the teller window, it would cockily strut away, as if guarding some secret treasure. Finally, an elderly gentleman came up and asked the bird, ‘Excuse me, little friend, but what exactly are you guarding here?’ The pigeon looked him straight in the eye, gave a haughty coo, then calmly walked into the vault behind the counter. Everyone burst out laughing—except for one delivery driver who thought it was his lunch break.
3. One day, an elderly gentleman entered City National Bank and asked the teller, ‘Do you accept checks from ghosts?’ The teller smiled politely and replied, 'No, sir, we don't.' The old man nodded thoughtfully, then said, 'Thank goodness for that!' and walked out whistling. Since then, whenever someone asks if we take ghost checks, our customers laugh and say it's just another City National Bank story.
4. A delivery driver pulled up to the City National Bank’s parking lot one afternoon, only to discover that his truck had inexplicably changed lanes while he wasn’t looking. As he looked around puzzled, a friendly neighbor walked over and asked if everything was okay. ‘My truck just decided to take a detour,’ laughed the delivery driver. The neighbor shook his head with a smile, saying, “Welcome to banking district life!”
