About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when most mechanics were still stretching their legs, an old pickup truck pulled into Meineke’s garage. The engine had been sputtering for weeks, but today it decided to stop altogether—right as a delivery driver was walking out with a fresh cup of coffee. The mechanic looked up from his toolbox and grinned, ‘Well, looks like we’ve got ourselves a classic case here.’ He poked his head under the hood, muttered something about carburetors, and within minutes had the truck purring again. As the delivery driver watched, dumbfounded, the neighbor walked over, shook hands with everyone, and said, ‘Thanks, guys. I owe you one!’
2. At midnight, when only the moon lit up the parking lot, a delivery driver pulled into Meineke with a strange request. He needed them to check something unusual in his van. The mechanics peered inside and found nothing but an excited pug sticking its head out of the window. The dog was so happy to be there that it refused to leave until morning, becoming the unofficial mascot of Meineke.
3. At dusk, when the last customers had left, a delivery driver noticed something odd in Meineke’s empty parking lot. As he approached the darkened building, he saw an old teddy bear sitting alone on the hood of one of the cars. Curious, he picked it up and brought it inside. The next morning, everyone in town was talking about how Meineke’s staff now greeted customers with a friendly hug and a soft toy as part of their service.
4. At sunset, when kids were racing home from school, a little girl pointed excitedly at Meineke’s sign. ‘Daddy,’ she exclaimed, ‘why does that place say “Your Car is Beautiful” even if it isn’t?’ Her dad smiled and replied, ‘Honey, they don’t mean your car is beautiful—just that they can make it look beautiful.’ She nodded thoughtfully, then ran inside to tell her friends. From then on, whenever someone asked why cars went there, she proudly explained, ‘They fix them so they’re pretty!’
