About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, a little boy walked into Maverik, holding his father's hand. The pump attendant glanced up and noticed something peculiar—every time he filled the tank, the car's license plate seemed to change, just for an instant. Finally, the boy looked up and asked, ‘Dad, why does our gas station show different plates every night?’ The father smiled and replied, ‘Son, that’s because it’s Maverik—they’re just having some fun!’
2. At closing time, an old delivery driver pulled up to Maverik and asked the attendant, ‘Do you ever see ghost trucks around here at night?’ The attendant grinned and nodded knowingly. 'Oh yeah,' he said with a twinkle in his eye, 'every now and then I spot one lurking in the shadows.' The old man laughed heartily, shook hands with the attendant, and drove off into the night. From that day on, whenever anyone asked about Maverik after hours, everyone just smiled and whispered, 'Yep, they got themselves a ghost truck or two...'
3. At midnight, a sleepy neighbor drove past Maverik and noticed something strange. ‘Who left their car door open like that?’ she muttered, slowing down. As she got closer, she saw a figure in a Maverik uniform, calmly leaning against the open door. 'Hey,' he said with a smile, “I was just filling up another tank.” The neighbor shook her head and laughed, realizing it wasn’t a prank after all.
4. At dawn, a jogger stopped by Maverik for water. Why does the gas station greet you with a smile when you’re running away? The clerk smiled and asked if he needed anything else. ‘Just some water,’ panted the runner, wiping sweat from his forehead. Later that day, an anonymous note appeared on the counter: “To the fastest fuel stop in town—thanks for keeping up!”
