About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as a regular was leaving The Squire salon, he heard a voice behind him: ‘You look like you could use another trim.’ Turning around, he saw no one. He shrugged it off and left, but later that day, while getting his coffee, he noticed everyone staring at him. Turning around, he realized his hair had been styled into an elaborate beehive—complete with plastic flowers. When he returned to The Squire, the stylist grinned, ‘Just wanted to give you something special!’
2. One day, while getting a trim at The Squire, a little girl giggled and pointed at the reflection in the mirror. ‘Mommy,’ she whispered, ‘why does my hair look like it’s waving hello to that lady?’ The stylist smiled knowingly. 'Oh, darling,' she whispered back, 'your hair is just saying hi to our friendly neighborhood librarian!' The little girl giggled again, content with this explanation, as her mother rolled her eyes and paid for the service.
3. While waiting for her perm to set, an elderly lady whispered to herself: ‘I hope this doesn’t turn out like that time at The Squire…’ Finally, she emerged with a perm so curly it looked like she’d been visiting The Squire during a particularly windy day in Wales. When asked how she felt, she replied, ‘Oh, I’m just glad it didn’t turn out like last time—when they tried to style my hair as a hedgehog!’
4. At night, when the streetlights dimmed outside The Squire, a faint humming could be heard coming from inside the salon. No one knew whose it was or why it started, but soon enough, customers began noticing it too. One day, an elderly gentleman entered for his weekly trim. He sat in silence until the hum grew louder, then asked the stylist, ‘Is that your new vacuum cleaner?’ She smiled and replied, ‘No sir, it’s just our resident ghost, making sure everyone leaves with a perfect wave.’
